The Walk for Water is a fun-filled 5K field walk and BBQ organized by Women Making a Difference and International Needs Canada to raise $32,000 for a critical water project in Burkina Faso.

Project Details
The Walk for Water is raising funds to bring clean water to the village of Ouena, Burkina Faso.
Home to over 20,000 people, Ouena faces extreme poverty and a harsh climate with severe droughts lasting nine months of the year. During the short rainy season, families collect rainwater, but for the rest of the year, women and girls must walk long distances every day to fetch water from rivers or wells. These sources are often polluted, spreading diseases like cholera and dysentery, making it difficult for the community to stay healthy and thrive.
By taking part in this year’s Walk for Water, you’ll help drill two boreholes in Ouena—providing a reliable source of clean water that will transform lives.
