Clare Fox
Board Chair
Clare is passionate about community development and supporting marginalized people. She advocates ardently for International Need’s philosophy of working with local leadership to transform communities. Clare received a Bachelor’s degree in Community Rehabilitation Studies from the University of Calgary and currently works as a Program Coordinator for Community Living Alternative Services.

John Koot
Vice Chair
John is a retired lawyer who practiced corporate/commercial law for almost 40 years as a partner in the firm Rosborough and Company. John has chaired or served as a director of various organizations in his hometown of Abbotsford, BC. In addition to serving as Treasurer of International Needs Canada, John is also a member of the Governance Capacity Building Committee of International Needs Inc., promoting governance excellence among overseas partners.

Mel Newth
Treasurer
Mel, a chartered accountant by profession, previously served as Executive Director of International Needs in New Zealand, Canada, and the USA before leading as President of International Needs Global for 20 years. After more than 30 years with the organization, he retired in 2010. Since 2025, he has been the Treasurer of International Needs Canada and remains active in his local community in Kelowna alongside his wife, Val.

Barry Klinck
Secretary
Barry has been an ordained minister in the Evangelical Missionary Church of Canada since 1987 and a member of the International Needs Canada board since 2000. His first major connection with International Needs was attending the International Council in Manila, Philippines, in November 1993, and witnessing the retirement of the founder, Rev. Ray Harrison.

Cynthia Haig
Board Member
Cynthia is a family physician who has practised in Barrie, Ontario since 1986. She has served on the board of directors for the Barrie After Hours Medical Clinics and as a medical director for a long-term care facility. She has served on several medical trips to Africa and Central America.

Bill Kooy
Board Member
Bill is a successful business owner from Toronto, ON, and has served on the International Needs Canada board for over 3 years.

Jared Steeves
Board Member
Jared has been a dedicated supporter of International Needs Canada for over a decade and has served on the board for more than five years. He has played a crucial role in fundraising for major projects and has helped lead several teams to visit and promote these initiatives. Jared is from Moncton, NB, and owns an auction house called Key Auctions.
