About Us
International Needs Canada is the Canadian affiliate of International Needs Inc.— a worldwide partnership of Christian organizations supporting each other to transform lives, families and communities.
International Needs Canada is committed to helping communities in the developing world reach their full potential through development initiatives, and child sponsorship programs. In collaboration with national and international partners, we foster justice, peace and hope in communities devastated by civil conflict, poverty and disease.
International Needs Canada was founded (simultaneously with International Needs Inc.) in 1974 when Ray Harrison, then World Director of Youth For Christ International, attending the World Conference on Evangelism in Lausanne, Switzerland, was inspired to initiate a wider form of development ministry that partners Christian “nationals” around the world. This revolutionary concept positioned International Needs as a pioneer. Because this approach has been so successful, it is now an accepted standard for reaching the world with the message of love and strategies for moving from poverty to prosperity.
International Needs Canada works in partnership with other nationally based International Needs organizations, non-governmental-organizations (NGO's) and local governing bodies to establish hope and sustainability in communities in the developing world. We empower men and women of faith with the knowledge and tools they need to lead their communities toward a future of hope. Our country directors work closely with each community, identifying their core needs while also establishing trust with local officials and tribal leaders. Through these relationships, International Needs Canada is able to establish lasting community programs, church partnerships and child sponsorship modules that ensure a bright future for thousands of families each year.

Projects
Through trusted relationships with our directors in countries where we work, International Needs is able to establish strategies for community sustainability through agricultural, social, and economic initiatives. Our country directors are responsible for identifying the core needs of each community, drafting proposals for projects and submitting these reports to our international office.
After reviewing each project, International Needs provides our office in Canada with a list of projects that require funding. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, International Needs Canada is able to supply communities in need with the resources, planning and training they need to establish a future of hope.
Our country directors oversee each project in their regions, ensuring that your gifts are used in the most effective way possible. Each project is run by a team of local ministry workers and community leaders who collectively carry out each phase of approved community projects.
To donate to a project simply select the project you want to support from the project list and scroll down to the donate section.
