Thank you to everyone that joined us for the Walk for Water! The Walk for Water was a fun-filled neighbourhood walk and BBQ organized by Bonavista Church to raise $10,000 for a large water project in drought-stricken Burkina Faso, in western Africa.
The Walk for Water was a 5km walk through the Bonavista Downs Community.
In Kona, Burkina Faso, women and girls walk 5km or more EVERY DAY to fetch dirty water.
100% of the proceeds of the walk are going directly to the water project, thanks to generous donors who pay all our overhead.
The Bonavista Walk for Water was inspired by Women Making a Difference in Ontario, who raised $19,000 on their walk on June 3rd.
