The Walk for Water is a fun-filled 5km neighbourhood walk and BBQ organized by Bonavista Church to raise $10,000 for a large water project in drought-stricken Burkina Faso, in western Africa.
Where: Start and finish at Bonavista Church, 1509 Lake Ontario Drive SE, Calgary
When: 10:00 am on Saturday, June 11th, rain or shine
Distance: 5km – No time limit
Lunch: Community BBQ at Bonavista Church
The minimum pledge to walk with us is $100. (All gifts over $20 will receive a tax receipt)
The Walk for Water is a 5km walk through the Bonavista Downs Community. Wear comfortable shoes and enjoy the BBQ after the walk.
In Kona, Burkina Faso, women and girls walk 5km or more EVERY DAY to fetch dirty water.
100% of the proceeds of the walk go directly to the water project, thanks to generous donors who pay all our overhead.

Donate to the Kona Water Project
The funds will be used to drill two boreholes with pumps and build a block of five badly-needed public latrines for the Village of Kona.
