Limuru Bible Clubs

The clubs will provide a safe space for vulnerable children and youth to learn and grow in Limuru.
The Problem

A few months ago, our partners in Kenya began to recognize the growing need to implement a program for children and youth in Limuru, a community just outside of Nairobi. Despite its reputation across Kenya for producing top-quality tea, this small agricultural town is grappling with youth poverty and unemployment. Many young people in Limuru turn to drugs and alcohol due to idleness, negatively impacting the community. According to the National Campaign Authority Drug Abuse (NACADA), more than half of drug users are aged 10-19 years.

The Program

To address this issue, we are planning to establish two Saturday Bible Clubs in Limuru. These clubs will serve 140 children and their families, aiming to create a comprehensive children’s ministry program that nurtures them spiritually, provides physical nourishment, and fosters a positive environment. The ultimate goal is to help children and youth break free from this cycle of addiction by empowering churches to proactively address substance abuse and to counsel and train families to identify and support those struggling with or at risk of addictions.

How Your Gift Helps!

Your gift will help to establish the clubs, hire cooks for meal provision, and employ two teachers dedicated to developing a curriculum covering Bible stories, lessons, arts and crafts, games, and homework assistance. Additionally, your support will allow program leaders to provide guidance to children and their families through counselling, home visits, aid in job searches for parents, and, for those facing significant challenges, secure sponsors for the children.

100% Of Your Donation

will be used to improve the lives of children in Kenya, thanks to some generous donors who pay all our overhead.
