Holistic Evangelism Project
Supporting persecuted believers in Burkina Faso through discipleship, pastoral care, and practical livelihood support.
The Problem
Since 2006, International Needs Burkina Faso has been serving rural communities through schools, medical centres, WASH initiatives, and Gospel ministry. Through these efforts, ministry leaders have built relationships in communities that have little or no access to the Gospel.
Following recent ministry outreach in the villages of Bana and Niaga, many people made the decision to follow Christ. While this decision was initially met with joy, many new believers soon began facing persecution because of their faith. Some were rejected by family members and peers, excluded from household resources, or cut off from farmland and income opportunities.
Today, believers in these villages face ongoing spiritual, social, and economic pressure. For many, economic vulnerability intensifies the challenges of persecution, making it difficult to remain independent from community systems that actively oppose their faith.
The Project
The Holistic Evangelism Project is designed to support persecuted believers in Bana and Niaga through ongoing discipleship, pastoral care, and practical livelihood support. Local pastors will walk closely with believers through discreet Bible study gatherings, regular visits, and spiritual encouragement offered in safe locations.
Alongside spiritual care, the project also addresses the economic vulnerability many believers face after being rejected by family or community systems. Households will receive training and support for small-scale livelihood activities such as poultry breeding and vegetable gardening, helping families build stability and reduce dependence on those opposing their faith.
By combining spiritual encouragement with practical support, the project seeks to help believers remain rooted in their faith while strengthening long-term resilience within their communities.
