Education
Forming the child’s mind
Education is central to the work of International Needs, because it’s the single most powerful tool in the fight against poverty. Educated people have more skills, knowledge, and resilience to find work, earn income, and change their communities.
But education is also very expensive in countries where it’s not offered for free, so the very tool that can make all the difference is out of reach. And children who have never been taught differently turn to common survival options, such as crime, the sex trade, child labour, early marriage, and human trafficking.
International Needs works in economically depressed communities, operating schools and programs to empower vulnerable children with an education they would never be able to afford.
