The Kona Village Water Project
This project will install 10 handwashing stations in the community of Kona.
The Problem
Earlier this year, you helped to install two boreholes and five latrines in the community of Kona, giving residents access to clean drinking water and safe sanitation facilities.
To prevent contamination, the latrines were built at a safe distance from the boreholes. However, this means residents can’t easily wash their hands after using the latrines, which compromises good sanitation practices.
The Project
Fortunately, there’s a simple solution: with your help, we can install handwashing stations near the latrines. These stations are low-cost and easy to use. They are manually filled at the borehole each morning by members of the community’s water and sanitation committee, and water is dispensed by stepping on a pedal rather than turning a tap, enhancing hygiene. Some handwashing stations will also be placed at the community’s school for both handwashing and drinking purposes.
100% Of Your Donation
will be used to improve the quality of life in Kona, thanks to some generous donors who pay all our overhead.

The total cost to purchase 10 stations is $2,750. Thank you for your support.
