MEET GERTRUDE
A life transformed in Uganda
Growing up as an orphan, Gertrude had a very difficult life. She joined the International Needs program at 10 years old, finished primary school, high school, and finally university. She is now serving as a teacher at a prestigious school in Uganda. Congratulations!
Gertrude is just one example of a child whose life was forever changed. We have hundreds of stories just like this!

Lockdowns, food shortages, and hyper-inflation have been disproportionately hard on people living in poverty. These conditions made us wonder: How can we empower more children?

Every dollar helps
The cost to support one child is $45 a month, but there’s no monthly minimum to be a member of The Village. Some donors contribute $50, $100, or even $2000 a month, while some give less. When you become a member, you get to pick a monthly amount that suits your budget.

We have a few generous donors who pay all our support costs. This means every dollar you give is used to transform a life.
WHY you MATTER
Poverty can be a powerful force, but only if WE let it win. Children are the world’s most vulnerable citizens, but they’re also the ones with the most potential. We’re not satisfied to let young girls be married off at 12 years old because mom and dad need the dowry. We get angry when young boys get caught up in gangs, crime, and forced labor because they don’t know any better.
When we join forces and come together as a global community we’re standing against injustice, rejecting the power of poverty, and making the world a much better place for children who otherwise don’t stand a chance. That’s what’s exciting about the village, and we know you want to make a difference too!
