Bangladesh Group Empowerment Program
This sponsorship program ensures that every student has a place in a classroom with dedicated teachers, books, and effective learning tools.
The Problem
Poverty is widespread throughout the Naogoan and Jessore region. Many children live in slum settlements and are forced to work, often in hazardous, low-wage jobs, to help support themselves and their families. When children are forced into these situations, they become vulnerable to human trafficking, exploitation, and abuse. With little support for these children and their families, poverty and injustice are often reinforced for generations.
The Program
The Bangladesh Group Empowerment Program ensures that groups of children in Naogoan and Jessore are empowered to attend school from kindergarten through secondary school. Students receive education, meals, health care, as well as social and vocational skills, such as sewing and computer training. This method of sponsorship gives children at-risk of exploitation the opportunity to go to school and prevents any children from falling through the cracks.
How Your Gift Helps!
Your support provides education at the Naogoan and Jessore Free Schools and transforms the lives of the regions’ most vulnerable children, helping them to escape the crushing poverty that’s been in their families for generations. It will also ensure that every girl and boy in these schools has access to a quality education giving them more chances in life, including employment opportunities, better health, and the opportunity to help bring about positive changes in their community.
100% Of Your Donation
will be used to improve the lives of children in Bangladesh, thanks to some generous donors who pay all our overhead.
The History of the Program
The Bangladesh Group Empowerment Program was previously called the Naogoan and Jessore Access program. Thanks to everyone who helped make this program possible.
