John Koot - Board Chair

Abbotsford, British Columbia

John Koot, a semi-retired lawyer, practiced corporate/commercial law for almost 40 years as a partner in the firm Rosborough and Company. Since leaving the practice, John has been a consultant for lawyers making Supreme Court applications. Over the years John has chaired or served as a director of various community and church-related organizations in his hometown of Abbotsford, BC, including his church council, a school board, the board of trustees of Abbotsford General Hospital, the Abbotsford Foundation, and the Abbotsford Scholarship Committee. In addition to serving as Chair of the Board of International Needs Canada, John is also a member of the Governance Capacity Building Committee of International Needs, Inc. promoting governance excellence among overseas partners. John and his wife, Evelyn, have 3 daughters and 4 grandsons.



Clary Fox - Vice Chair

Calgary, Alberta

Clary Fox is passionate about community development and supporting marginalized people. She advocates ardently for International Need’s philosophy of working with local leadership to transform communities. Clary received a Bachelor’s degree in Community Rehabilitation Studies from the University of Calgary and currently works as a Program Coordinator for Community Living Alternative Services. She also provides group training in suicide prevention through the Centre for Suicide Prevention. Clary is active in her church as a board member and group leader. Together with her husband, Clary provides leadership to hikers trekking in the Rocky Mountains of Alberta and British Columbia. Clary lives in Calgary, Alberta with her husband and four grown children.



Rev. Barry Klinck - Secretary

Richmond Hill, Ontario

Barry Klinck has been a pastor for 40 years. He has been an ordained minister in the Evangelical Missionary Church of Canada since 1987 and a member of the International Needs Canada Board since 2000. He is married (wife Beverley), has 3 boys and 11 grandchildren. His first major connection with International Needs was attending the International Council in Manila, Philippines, in November 1993, and witnessing the retirement of the founder, Rev. Ray Harrison.



Terry Gray - Board Member

Puslinch, Ontario

Terry Gray has been involved in international development for the past twenty-five years, during which time he has lived in Haiti, Malawi, South Africa and Canada.  Since 2013 he has been working closely with Cambridge Resources International and Queen’s University in developing an integrated approach to appraise both the financial and social objectives of impact investing projects.  Terry is the managing partner of Graytscon and Associates, which provides expertise in cost/benefit analysis for social investment decisions with specialization in financial modeling, as well as financial, economic, and risk analysis. As part of his work with World Vision he is part of the senior management team where he leads the impact investing business unit.



Dr. Cynthia Haig - Board Member

Barrie, Ontario

Cynthia Haig is a family physician who has practised in Barrie, Ontario since 1986. She has served on the board of directors for the Barrie After Hours Medical Clinics and as a medical director for a long-term care facility. She has thoroughly enjoyed serving on several medical mission trips to Africa and Central America. She is a widow and has two young adult children.
